Furnace Service

Heat That Holds Through Winter

When your furnace quits at 20 below, you do not have time to wait. Northland Air carries common furnace parts on the truck (ignitors, flame sensors, pressure switches, blower motors), so most no-heat calls are one trip. We service every common gas and propane furnace brand and run 24/7 emergency dispatch through every Northland winter.

For replacements, we do a real heat-load calculation on your home, not a rule-of-thumb square-footage guess. That means a system sized to keep every room even, with the efficiency rating that actually pencils out for your annual gas bill. We walk you through 2-stage versus modulating, AFUE differences, and what each option costs to run year over year before you commit.

24/7 Emergency Dispatch

A real person answers every call. We dispatch the same night on emergency calls — no voicemail, no next-business-day callbacks. When your property is at risk, every hour matters.

You Know Who’s Walking Through Your Door

Every technician we send is background-checked, licensed, and fully insured. Your unoccupied property gets the same care and respect as your primary home.

No Surprises. No Added Costs. No Exceptions.

Every job is flat-rate and fully quoted before work begins. You approve the price first — we start work second. That’s how it works every single time.

Veteran-Owned. A Different Standard of Service.

When you’re not there to watch, you need someone who holds themselves accountable anyway. That’s what veteran-owned means to us — discipline, reliability, and a standard that doesn’t change based on who’s watching.

Warning Signs

Recognize Any of These Signs?

If any of these sound familiar in your home, it is time to bring in a licensed pro before a small issue becomes a major repair.

Yellow flame instead of steady blue

Incomplete combustion. Possible CO risk. Stop using the system, ventilate the area, and call us same-day.

Get an Estimate

Furnace cycles on and off every few minutes

Short cycling. Usually a dirty flame sensor, oversized equipment, or restricted airflow. Cuts furnace life in half if left alone.

Get an Estimate

High-pitched squealing or grinding from the furnace

Failing blower motor bearings, slipping belt, or worn-out inducer motor. Replace the part before it fails completely and shuts the system down.

Get an Estimate

Soot stains or rust on the cabinet

Sign of combustion problems, condensation issues, or a cracked heat exchanger. The cracked-heat-exchanger scenario is a CO risk and warrants immediate inspection.

Get an Estimate

Heating bill 20 percent or more higher than last winter

Efficiency loss from dirty burners, leaking ductwork, or a system approaching end of life. A tune-up plus heat-load calc shows what is driving the cost.

Service FAQs

Common Questions About This Service

Quick answers to the questions homeowners ask most about this specific service.

Most straight replacements are done in a single day, often by mid-afternoon. Larger jobs with ductwork modifications or fuel-conversion work may run a second day, scheduled and quoted upfront.

We service every major brand including Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Amana, Rheem, Bryant, and York. For new installs we recommend models based on your home’s heat load and your priorities (upfront cost vs. lifetime efficiency).

Most often that is the ignitor (hot surface or spark) cycling without success. Common causes are a dirty flame sensor, weak ignitor, blocked condensate drain on high-efficiency models, or a pressure switch issue. Call us and we will diagnose on site, usually one trip.

That short-cycling is often a dirty flame sensor, a clogged filter, an oversized furnace, or a blocked flue. A dirty flame sensor is the most common and cheapest fix, so we clean and test it rather than guess.

We clean the burners and flame sensor, inspect the heat exchanger for cracks, test the ignitor and gas pressure, verify safe combustion and CO levels, and check airflow. It is a safety inspection as much as an efficiency one.

Yes. A cracked heat exchanger can leak carbon monoxide into your home, so it is a safety shutdown, not a keep-an-eye-on-it item. We show you exactly what we found and walk through your options.
